Tomato Nursery Employee, Netherlands

Working Hours: 32–45 hours per week

• Overtime available (135% pay increase).
• Weekend work: Saturdays only (starting at 4:45 AM).

Main Tasks:

• Harvesting Tomatoes: Cutting tomato clusters with scissors.
• Leaf Removal: Collecting or trimming leaves from plants.
• Truss Pruning: Adjusting tomato clusters to the correct number of fruits (performed at height).
• Plant Bending: Manipulating and bending clusters (performed at height).
• Plant Lowering: Lowering plants towards the ground.

Some tasks are carried out on electric carts adjustable to heights of 3–4 meters, so candidates must not have a fear of heights.

• Physical Requirements:
  • Minimum height: 1.65 m (due to the nature of the work).
  • No eczema or skin conditions (hands must be disinfected multiple times daily).
  • Short nails (to protect the fruits).
  • No color blindness.
• Availability:
  • Minimum 5 months.
  • Full availability during the agreed period; vacations by arrangement.
• Hygiene:
  • Safety shoes must be worn.
  • No jewelry.
  • Must carry identification daily.
